The Riverbank Treasure House is one of the most intriguing optional side locations in Resident Evil Village, offering players a chance to secure high-value loot. Navigating to this hidden structure requires specific story progression and a key key-item before you can even cross the river. Once inside, players must solve a multi-step brazier puzzle involving fire mechanics and enemy interaction.
Prerequisites and Unlocking the Boat Route
Before attempting to reach the treasure vault, players must complete the main story sequence in the Reservoir area. Defeating Salvatore Moreau rewards you with the Crank, which is essential for lowering the drawbridge on the Lone Road. Once the bridge is lowered, you can gain access to a small riverboat docked along the water.
Board the boat and pilot it upstream toward the northern edge of the map. Follow the river until you reach a wooden dock where you can safely disembark. Heading up the pathway and taking a right leads directly to the heavy double doors of the treasure house.
Solving the Initial Brazier Puzzle
Upon stepping inside the vault chamber, you will notice a lit brazier hanging in the center of the room surrounded by unlit torches. To open the side doors, you must swing the central flaming brazier into the unlit wall torches. Shooting the hanging brazier propels it forward to ignite the torches on both sides.
Igniting these initial torches unlocks two side rooms containing ammo, Lei, and a spawning enemy. This enemy plays a critical role in solving the final stage of the puzzle. Do not defeat this creature right away, as its presence is required for the next step.
Lighting the Final Torch and Claiming Rewards
To access the main treasure room, you must set the spawned enemy on fire using the swinging brazier. Knock the hanging brazier into the enemy until its body catches flame. Once ignited, lead the burning creature toward the unlit torch located inside the far room.
When the burning monster comes close to the torch, it will ignite the final brazier and unlock the treasure door. You can now eliminate the creature and claim the Golden Lady Statue along with bonus Magnum ammunition. Returning to the Duke with the statue guarantees a substantial payout in Lei.
